The Cricket Board of Maldives (CBM) has announced plans to host its first indoor and tapeball cricket tournaments open to the public, and is now seeking organisers to manage and execute both events.

Both events are set to bring a new wave of opportunities for cricket enthusiasts.

The indoor cricket tournament, part of CBM’s ‘Cricket for All Programme,’ is a key event in the Board's calendar. Aimed at promoting indoor cricket, the tournament will be open to qualified organisations or individuals from across the Maldives. The initiative seeks to make cricket more accessible by creating additional playing opportunities, the Board stated.

Alongside the indoor cricket event, the CBM will also host the first-ever national tapeball cricket tournament. Open to organisations and individuals capable of organising and participating, this tournament is seen as a major event designed to popularise cricket nationwide. The Board hopes it will encourage greater community participation and attract new players to the sport.

While the dates for the indoor cricket tournament have not yet been finalised, the tapeball tournament has been scheduled for September this year.
