President Dr Mohamed Muizzu has met with the Rasgetheemu Island Council and the Women's Development Committee (WDC), where he convened with council members and institutional heads to discuss key developmental challenges facing the island.

The meeting took place at the Rasgetheemu Island Council office, where council representatives outlined pressing issues requiring immediate attention. Among the highlighted concerns were the unresolved port infrastructure in Rasgetheemu, the need for repairs to the island's electricity network, and the urgent requirement to address water and sewerage connection problems.

Additionally, the council emphasised the necessity of constructing a multi-purpose hall and expanding classroom facilities at Rasgetheemu School to alleviate space constraints. Proposals also included establishing a children’s park to enhance recreational opportunities for young residents.

President Dr Muizzu assured the council that the matters raised would be carefully examined, with efforts directed towards implementing appropriate solutions. Ministers accompanying the President also provided updates on ongoing development projects within the island.
