The Ministry of Finance and Planning has opened an international tender for the development and operation of a tourist resort in Noonu Farumuli, an area newly designated for tourism development.

This decision follows President Dr Mohamed Muizzu’s move to officially exclude Farumuli from the administrative jurisdiction of Maafaru. Previously, both Farumuli and Kan’dinmahuraa fell under Maafaru’s administration. The reclassification is expected to attract tourism investment and boost development in the region.

Interested parties are invited to attend virtual information sessions scheduled for Monday, July 21, 2025, at 10:00 a.m.and Monday, August 18, 2025, at 10:00 a.m. Participants must register by emailing their name, email address, and contact number to [email protected] before noon on Sunday, July 20, and Sunday, August 17, respectively.

Application forms for the purchase of bid books are available on the Ministry’s official website: www.tourism.gov.mv. Bid books can be collected from the Ministry of Tourism and Environment’s reception (Velana Building, 5th Floor) on working days between 9:00 a.m. and 1:00 p.m., from Tuesday, July 8 to Tuesday, September 9.
