National airline Maldivian has announced the launch of direct flights between Meemu Muli and Laamu Kadhdhoo, set to begin on Saturday, July 12.

According to the airline, the new service is being introduced in response to sufficient demand along the route. Flights will operate once a week, with bookings now open. One-way fares start at MVR 999, and the flight is expected to take approximately 30 minutes.

Muli Airport, which officially opened on May 20, 2025, is equipped with a 1,500-metre-long, 30-metre-wide runway and a full suite of modern facilities designed to support domestic operations. Maldivian began flights to the airport shortly after its opening, on May 24.

This new connection is part of the airline’s broader strategy to strengthen its domestic and international network. Most recently, Maldivian launched seasonal weekly flights to Shenzhen, China, which will continue until August 21, 2025.
