The Maldives National University (MNU) has opened applications for two fisheries-related training courses scheduled to begin in August 2025.

The programs are offered by the university’s College of Fisheries and Ocean Sciences (CFOS), with the application deadline set for August 5, 2025.

Two six-month certificate programs will be available in the upcoming intake. These include the National Certificate 3 in Fishing Guidance and the National Certificate 1 in Fish Processing and Quality Control.

The Fishing Guidance course will be conducted at MNU campuses in Thinadhoo and Kulhudhuffushi, while the Fish Processing and Quality Control course will take place at the MNU Malé Campus.

The College of Fisheries and Ocean Sciences (CFOS) is a key academic institution dedicated to education, research, and sustainable development in the Maldives’ vital fisheries sector. As a country that heavily relies on marine resources, the Maldives benefits significantly from CFOS’s efforts to advance scientific understanding, support conservation, and train skilled professionals in marine and fisheries sciences.

CFOS currently offers programs in marine biology, fisheries management, aquaculture, and oceanography.
