First Lady Sajidha Mohamed has emphasised that every student should embody Islamic values and the characteristics of Maldivian nationhood, stressing that education must be paired with faith and responsibility.

She delivered the remarks at the annual award ceremony of Ahmadiyya International School on 6 September. She reflected on the school’s history, describing it as a tree rooted in collective effort and producing fruitful generations of students.

Highlighting the role of education, the First Lady said it is both a privilege and a responsibility. She urged students not only to excel academically but also to remain true to themselves, embrace Islam, and demonstrate commitment to Maldivian nationhood. She emphasised that children should be disciplined, respectful, and mindful of both national and global responsibilities.

She added that students who live by their faith, uphold Maldivian values, and remain steadfast in their studies will grow to make integrity their most valuable quality. According to her, such principles would bring blessings in this life and the hereafter, while also preparing young people to adapt to modern challenges.

Addressing parents and teachers, the First Lady stressed the importance of recognising the true needs of education. She called on parents and teachers to lead by example at home and in the community, so children grow with strong foundations in faith, culture, and Maldivian identity.

During the ceremony, the First Lady also presented awards to the students who achieved world rankings in O' Level exams, as well as the 'Best All-Round' awards.
