The Ministry of Economic Development and Trade has conducted a second round of consultations on the Maldives’ upcoming Residency by Investment Programme.

According to Minister of Economic Development and Trade Mohamed Saeed, the discussions, held in partnership with Henley & Partners from 14-8 September 2025, brought together relevant Government agencies and key private sector stakeholders. This phase focused on advancing dialogue around the programme’s design, policy framework, and legal structure.

The consultations build on earlier stakeholder meetings held in August 2025.

The Government formalised an agreement with Henley & Partners in July 2025, during President Dr Mohamed Muizzu’s official visit to Singapore, to introduce the country’s inaugural residency by investment scheme.
