President Dr Mohamed Muizzu has pledged a series of new development initiatives for Faafu Dharan’boodhoo, including major upgrades to health, education, sports, and public infrastructure.
He made the commitments while meeting with residents during his visit to the island.
The President highlighted the launch of the new health centre project, noting that the upgraded facility will significantly improve medical services. He announced plans to extend operating hours to 16 per day and to deploy additional nurses to strengthen immediate care.
Sports and youth development are also a priority. President Dr Muizzu said that construction of a football stadium, a volleyball court, and a youth centre will move forward, along with the development of a running track to encourage fitness and community recreation.
To improve public safety, the President confirmed that a dedicated police station building will be established. He also outlined plans to expand the island’s school with a multipurpose hall and three additional classrooms, as well as to address the pressing issue of coastal erosion.
President Dr Muizzu assured residents that these projects will be incorporated into next year’s national budget to ensure timely implementation.
