President Dr Mohamed Muizzu has inaugurated the Raajje Transport Link (RTL) ferry service in Thaa Atoll, extending the Government’s integrated transport network to 13 atolls nationwide.

The inauguration ceremony was held in Veymandoo on 24 September, as part of the President's ongoing tour of the atoll. Speaking at the community meeting, he reaffirmed the Administration’s commitment to expand RTL services to every atoll by the end of the year, ensuring communities across the Maldives have access to safe, affordable and reliable inter-island transport.

The initiative is being carried out by the Ministry of Transport and Civil Aviation in partnership with the Maldives Transport and Contracting Company (MTCC). RTL services were introduced in Raa Atoll in June and expanded to Baa Atoll in July. With Thaa Atoll now added, the network spans 13 atolls, with further launches planned in the coming weeks as the Government works towards nationwide coverage.
