President Dr Mohamed Muizzu has concluded his eight-day tour of Vaavu, Meemu, Faafu, and Thaa Atolls, during which he visited all 31 inhabited islands and held meetings with local councils, Women’s Development Committees, institutional leaders, and residents.

Speaking at the final stop of his tour in Thaa Thimarafushi, the President said the trip yielded significant results, with 40 agreements signed, 60 new projects commenced, and 24 projects completed. He extended his gratitude to the public, noting that citizens from every island had shared their needs and priorities directly with him and his delegation.

The President said this direct engagement was central to the tour’s core objective of connecting with local communities and ensuring that development efforts reflect their priorities.

During the visit, the Administration inaugurated new projects and signed agreements across the four atolls. These included the introduction of new ferry services, airport development initiatives to strengthen the national transport network, and the launch of Bank of Maldives ATM services. With these openings, ATM facilities are now available on every inhabited island across the four atolls.
