President Dr Mohamed Muizzu has urged broadcasters in the Maldives to ensure their content reflects Islamic principles and Maldivian values, while contributing positively to the nation’s image.

In a message posted on his official X account to mark National Broadcasting Day, observed annually on 4 October, the President extended greetings to all contributors in the broadcasting sector.

He emphasised that all aspects of broadcasting, including news, information and entertainment, should be delivered actively and responsibly. The President added that broadcasters have a duty to provide useful programming that upholds the country’s culture and religion while also playing a key role in building a good name for the Maldives.

National Broadcasting Day is celebrated to recognise the significance of the industry and its role in shaping public awareness and national identity.
