Minister of Tourism and Environment Thoriq Ibrahim has commended the Maldives Association of Tourism Industry (MATI) for its role in developing the country’s tourism sector.

Speaking on the occasion of National Tourism Day, observed on 3 October, the Minister said MATI has been a key driver of innovation, entrepreneurship, and collaboration within the industry. He thanked MATI members for their efforts in building tourism and improving the standard of living for Maldivians.

The Minister highlighted that MATI has introduced new ideas to the sector, fostered cooperation among stakeholders, and created thousands of jobs for locals. He added that the association continues to play an important role in strengthening the economy and bringing positive changes to society.
