President Dr Mohamed Muizzu has announced plans to implement a housing project in Alifu Dhaalu Kun’burudhoo next year.

Speaking to residents during his visit to the island, the President noted that Kun’burudhoo, the smallest island in the atoll, will see significant improvements in housing and other areas through upcoming development initiatives, including the land reclamation and harbour projects.

He stated that even before the reclamation work begins, the Government will assess the available space within the existing island and include a housing project for Kun’burudhoo in next year’s budget.

The President further announced that land reclamation and harbour development work will commence next month, with the project expected to be completed within one year to one and a half years.

President Dr Muizzu said the newly launched and signed projects in the island are vital for its development and assured residents that the Government will give special attention to ensuring their successful implementation.

He also noted that the newly opened football ground and multi-purpose court will create additional opportunities for youth engagement and sports development in Kun’burudhoo.
