President Dr Mohamed Muizzu has inaugurated the Principals’ Conference 2025, which began on Saturday at Crossroads Maldives.

A total of 210 principals from across the country are participating in the two-day conference, organised by the Ministry of Education.

The conference serves as a platform to address key challenges faced by school leaders and explore ways to enhance the education system. According to the Ministry, this year’s event takes a more inclusive approach, with a strong focus on teacher participation and collaboration.

Unlike previous editions, the Principals’ Conference 2025 has been designed around teachers’ ideas and discussions. Participants will examine strategies to improve teacher training and identify measures to attract and retain qualified educators in the profession.

The Ministry noted that earlier conferences were primarily policy-driven, with limited input from teachers. This year, the focus has shifted toward open dialogue, allowing educators and school leaders to work together in identifying practical solutions to real challenges in the education sector.
