Hulhimendhoo Hotel School to boost tourism training: President

President Dr Mohamed Muizzu has announced that the hotel school to be developed in Laamu Hulhimendhoo will be a key milestone in strengthening the Maldives’ tourism sector.
The President made the remarks at the community meeting in Maamendhoo during his visit to Laamu Atoll. He said the project, one of his electoral pledges, represents an important step in developing skilled local professionals for the tourism sector, which remains central to the nation’s economy. An agreement to establish the Hulhimendhoo Hotel School was signed during the community meeting between the Maldives National University (MNU) and Maldives Airports Company Limited (MACL) to enhance training and employment opportunities within the hospitality industry.
As part of his visit, President Dr Muizzu also revealed that 21 hectares of land will be reclaimed in Maamendhoo under ongoing development plans along with a resort. He further assured that the Government will address electricity issues through Fenaka Corporation and resolve space constraints at the island’s school. The President reaffirmed his Administration’s commitment to completing all projects initiated during his visit.
