The Maldives has officially launched the logo commemorating the 75th anniversary of Maldivian football during the Football Festival held at National Stadium.

The event took place as part of the visit of FIFA President Gianni Infantino to the Maldives, following an invitation from the President of the Football Association of Maldives (FAM), Ahmed Thoriq.

The logo was jointly unveiled by President Dr Mohamed Muizzu and FIFA President Gianni Infantino, marking the start of a year-long celebration honouring the nation’s footballing heritage and achievements.

To lead the anniversary celebrations, experienced coach Ali Suzain has been appointed Chairman of the Diamond Jubilee Committee – a special ad hoc body established by FAM. The decision to form the committee was made during the first meeting of FAM’s new steering committee, with members nominated by football clubs across the country.

In celebration of this milestone, a total of 75 activities have been planned in accordance with FAM’s sports calendar. Among the highlights is a special football tournament scheduled for June 2026, alongside the release of a dedicated Diamond Jubilee song to commemorate the occasion.

The 75th anniversary celebrations aim to reflect on the journey of Maldivian football, celebrate its achievements, and inspire future generations to continue building the nation’s proud football legacy.
