President Dr Mohamed Muizzu met with the Chairman of Pakistan’s Joint Chiefs of Staff Committee, General Sahir Shamshad Mirza, during a courtesy call held at the President’s Office on Thursday.

President Dr Muizzu warmly welcomed General Mirza to the Maldives and expressed appreciation for the close ties between the two countries. Discussions during the meeting focused on strengthening the longstanding bilateral relationship between the Maldives and Pakistan and exploring new areas of cooperation.

Both the President and General Mirza reaffirmed their shared commitment to further enhancing collaboration between the two nations and emphasised the importance of continued partnership in advancing mutual interests.

The Maldives and Pakistan have maintained bilateral relations since 1966.
