President Dr Mohamed Muizzu has extended his condolences to King Maha Vajiralongkorn Phra Vajiraklaochaoyuhua, King of Thailand, following the passing of Queen Sirikit, The Queen Mother of Thailand.

In his message, President Dr Muizzu expressed profound sorrow over the news of Her Majesty’s passing, describing Queen Sirikit as a symbol of grace and compassion who devoted her life to the service of her nation. He noted that she will be remembered for her unwavering dedication to social causes and her close connection with communities across Thailand.

On behalf of the Government and people of the Maldives, the President conveyed heartfelt sympathies to King Maha Vajiralongkorn, the Royal Family, and the people of Thailand, wishing them strength and comfort during this time of national mourning.

Queen Sirikit, the mother of the current Thai monarch and the wife of the late King Bhumibol Adulyadej, Thailand’s longest-reigning ruler, passed away on Friday at the age of 93.
