First Lady Sajidha Mohamed has said that creating a moral, disciplined, and responsible generation is essential to ensuring a happy and prosperous future for the Maldives.

Speaking at a ceremony held to commemorate the Silver Jubilee of Clique College, the First Lady said that such a generation would drive productivity and progress while safeguarding the nation’s peace and security in every sense. She added that the true purpose of nation-building lies in empowering citizens to use their intelligence and skills to achieve their own stability and success.

Highlighting the role of education in this process, she noted that the country’s education system prioritises health, innovation, diligence, and skill development to strengthen both the intellectual and practical capacities of students. She added that young people are also trained in areas such as productivity, business, and politics to prepare them for future leadership.

The First Lady stated that these values are upheld across both private and Government education systems in the Maldives, contributing to the development of a capable and conscientious generation.

She further highlighted national initiatives such as the Government’s generation-wide ban on smoking and the National Service programme, noting that while these efforts are led by the Government, the private sector also plays a vital role in national development.

The First Lady commended Clique College for its educational programmes and acknowledged the dedication of private individuals who have made significant contributions to advancing education in the Maldives over the years.

Concluding her remarks, the First Lady expressed hope for the continued rise of a generation that respects the Maldivian language, culture, and traditions while remaining forward-looking, productive, and guided by integrity.
