Former Chief Commissioner of the Scout Association of Maldives, Ahmed Ali Manik, has been honoured with the highest award presented to Scouts in the Asia-Pacific region.
Ali Manik received the Asia-Pacific Region Award for Distinguished Service to International Scouting, recognising his significant contributions to the development and advancement of Scouting across the region. The award was presented during the closing ceremony of the 28th Asia-Pacific Scout Conference held from 12–17 October in Kaohsiung, Taiwan.
With over 30 years of dedicated service, Ali Manik has held several key leadership roles within the Scout Association of Maldives, including positions on the National Scout Council. During his tenure as Chief Commissioner, the Scouting movement in the Maldives achieved noteworthy accomplishments both nationally and internationally.
He is also a recipient of the prestigious Silver Tuna Award, the highest national honour in Maldivian Scouting, awarded for outstanding service to the movement in the country.
Beyond his national contributions, Ali Manik has served at the regional level as a member of the Asia-Pacific Regional Committee, Vice Chairperson of the Asia-Pacific Regional Management Sub-Committee, and a member of the Asia-Pacific Region Awards Committee.
