President Dr Mohamed Muizzu has assured Lhaviyani Olhuvelifushi residents that the electricity issues in the island will be resolved before Ramadan next year.

Th the President reaffirmed his Administration’s commitment to ensuring that all ongoing projects on the island progress without interruption, emphasising that the continued development of Olhuvelifushi will contribute to the wider prosperity of the community.

He highlighted the pressing need to upgrade the island’s electricity network, explaining that the lack of a reliable power supply has prevented the effective operation of essential facilities, including the sewerage system and the expanded health centre. The Government, working in collaboration with Fenaka Corporation, is set to address these challenges as a priority, with close monitoring of progress through the relevant authorities.

On education, the President noted that the company contracted to build ten new classrooms has already received the necessary funding and has been instructed to expedite the work. He also announced that a multipurpose hall for the island’s school will be included in next year’s national budget.

President Dr Muizzu reiterated his determination to fulfil his Administration’s pledges and to implement development projects that reflect the aspirations of the community. In line with this commitment, funds will be allocated to the island council for the construction of a volleyball court and the commencement of a road development project on Olhuvelifushi.
