President Dr Mohamed Muizzu has visited the Bliss Care Clinic in Lhaviyani Naifaru, where he met with children receiving treatment and spent time interacting with them.
During the visit, the President was briefed on the range of therapies and support services provided to children with special needs at the clinic. He also commended the clinic’s staff and management for their dedication to such an important cause, noting the valuable role played by the private institution in delivering specialised care.
The Bliss Care Clinic, operated by the Bliss Care Foundation, offers a variety of services including speech therapy, occupational therapy, behavioural therapy and special education needs (SEN) programmes.
Opened in July 2024, the clinic currently provides care for over 100 registered children with special needs and employs 16 therapists. While based in Naifaru, it also serves children from neighbouring Lhaviyani and Noonu atolls.
According to the foundation, all children receiving treatment at the clinic are registered with the National Social Protection Agency (NSPA) and receive allowances for children with special needs, which the foundation said reflects the Government’s continued support for their welfare.
