A senior delegation from the Supreme People’s Procuratorate of China, led by Shi Weizhong, Permanent Member of the Procuratorial Committee, has arrived in the Maldives on an official visit at the invitation of Prosecutor General Abbas Shareef.

The Prosecutor General’s Office stated that the visit represents a significant move towards deepening cooperation in prosecutorial work, institutional strengthening, and professional exchange between the two countries.

During the visit, the delegation will hold discussions with key government and judicial leaders, including Chief Justice Uz Abdul Ghanee Mohamed and Prosecutor Uz General Abbas Shareef. Meetings are also scheduled with Minister of Homeland Security and Technology Ali Ihusaan and Commissioner of Police Ismail Naveen.

The visit underscores growing engagement between the Maldives and China in justice sector development and legal expertise exchange.
