Over 600 applicants attend walk-in interviews for Immigration Officer positions

More than 600 individuals have applied for 70 Immigration Officer trainee positions through a walk-in interview held by Maldives Immigration.
According to Immigration, a total of 670 people participated in the interviews conducted at Salahuddin School on Saturday. Shortlisting will be based on candidates’ educational backgrounds and relevant experience, with written examinations scheduled to take place between November 4 and 8.
Immigration Officers are primarily responsible for border control at airports, issuing passports and travel documents, and managing operations at seaports and visa sections.
The position offers a basic monthly salary of MVR 6,500, a service allowance of MVR 1,500, and a 35 per cent special service allowance upon completion of basic training.
Selected candidates will be employed for up to eight months. Those who complete the basic training within this period will be eligible for promotion to a permanent rank between CS 3-1 and CS 6-1. Candidates who fail to complete the training will be dismissed.
