Saudi Arabia has announced new amendments to its Umrah visa regulations, reducing the entry period for pilgrims to one month from the date of visa issuance. The decision was made by the Ministry of Hajj and Umrah as part of efforts to improve crowd management during the upcoming Umrah season.

Previously, Umrah pilgrims were allowed to enter the Kingdom within three months of their visa being issued. Under the new rule, entry must take place within one month, although the overall validity of the visa to stay in Saudi Arabia for Umrah purposes remains three months.

An advisor to the National Committee for Umrah and Visit, Ahmed Bajaifur, said the change aims to reduce congestion at the Two Holy Mosques and ensure a smoother experience for the growing number of pilgrims. The number of Umrah visitors this season is expected to reach four million, prompting authorities to strengthen logistical and administrative controls.

The Saudi government stated that the decision forms part of an initiative to enhance crowd flow, safety, and comfort for worshippers during peak pilgrimage periods.
