President Dr Mohamed Muizzu has inaugurated three major projects in Fuvahmulah City, bringing significant progress in healthcare, financial access, and youth development.

The Bank of Maldives (BML) officially launched US dollar ATM services in the city, expanding access to foreign currency transactions for residents and businesses. The ceremony was attended by BML CEO and Managing Director Mohamed Shareef, and parliamentarians representing Fuvahmulah’s constituencies. The initiative fulfils a presidential pledge to strengthen banking accessibility across all islands, with more dollar ATMs planned nationwide.

At Fuvahmulah City Hospital, President Dr Muizzu also inaugurated CT scan services, a long-awaited healthcare facility established under a MVR 2.9 million project contracted to Econ Maldives Pvt Ltd. The President toured the new facility alongside Minister of Health Abdulla Nazim Ibrahim and senior hospital officials. The service is among the most in-demand medical upgrades in the city and aims to enhance diagnostic care for the islands’s 12,000 residents.

Additionally, the President opened a new futsal pitch in Maadhadu, designed to promote community engagement and provide youth with modern sports and recreation spaces. The three inaugurations reflect the Government’s ongoing commitment to improving essential services and local infrastructure across the Maldives.
