The Embassy of China in the Maldives has announced that applications are now open for the Chinese Government Scholarship for the 2026/2027 academic year, offering Maldivian students the opportunity to pursue undergraduate, postgraduate and doctoral studies in China.

Applications must be submitted through the official “Study in China” online portal, with the Embassy specifying agency number “4622” for Maldivian applicants.

The Embassy has reiterated that it has not authorised any third-party agents or individuals to collect applications on behalf of students, urging applicants to upload accurate and complete documents. Undergraduate applicants are required to submit valid China Scholastic Competency Assessment (CSCA) score reports, with upcoming test registration dates scheduled for December 2025 and January 2026.

The Embassy has set 10 February 2026 as the deadline for submissions and advised students to refer to its official channels for detailed guidelines. The scholarship continues to support educational cooperation between the Maldives and China by expanding study opportunities for Maldivian students at leading Chinese institutions.
