Maldives Immigration has announced that applications for the new e-visa system will open on 23 November, following the official roll out of new digital services under the Government’s Maldives 2.0 initiative. The agency stated that detailed tutorials will be shared across its official platforms to guide applicants through the process, while passports can continue to be submitted for visas until 20 November, with unissued passports to be collected after 23 November. The e-visa system is a major step towards digitalising immigration services, enabling all visa processes to be completed entirely online, reducing the need for physical visits and cutting processing times for expatriates and residents.
