SME Digital disburses over MVR 117 million in loans during first 10 months of 2025

SME Digital has disbursed more than MVR 117 million to micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs) so far this year, with the highest allocation made under the Rashu Fathuru Scheme, according to the latest figures released by the company.

Since January 1, 2024, SME Digital has issued a total of 573 loans amounting to MVR 335.5 million. Of this, MVR 117.8 million has been disbursed this year to 223 beneficiaries, while MVR 217.6 million was disbursed to 350 beneficiaries last year.

The Rashu Fathuru Scheme accounted for the largest share of financing issued this year, followed by Murabaha RSW Financing and Business Assistance loans.

  • Rashu Fathuru Scheme: 32 loans – MVR 41.21 million
  • Murabaha RSW Financing: 24 loans – MVR 23.5 million
  • Business Assistance: 56 loans – MVR 23.1 million
  • Coastal Benefits: 30 loans – MVR 8.8 million
  • Hard Assets: 10 loans – MVR 7.7 million
  • Start-up Grants: 43 loans – MVR 6.3 million
  • Business Development: 7 loans – MVR 3.6 million
  • Start-up Business: 9 loans – MVR 1.7 million
  • Farmer Profit: 6 loans – MVR 1.1 million
  • Farmer Benefit: 6 loans – MVR 495,200

SME Digital, formerly known as the SME Development Finance Corporation (SDFC), continues to play a key role in supporting MSMEs across the Maldives by offering affordable financing to help launch new ventures, sustain existing operations, and expand businesses.
