The National Social Protection Agency (NSPA) has opened applications for State-assisted IVF treatment through the Fertility Care Fund.

Applications can be submitted via the OneGov portal between November 20 and December 20. From the eligible applicants, the 50 couples who score the highest under the assessment criteria will receive IVF assistance in 2025.

NSPA said the guidelines for providing IUI and IVF services will be published on its website. The agency has also requested applicants to contact hotline 1402 for any queries or support with completing forms.

State-funded IVF support under Aasandha began in March 2024. Between January and November 12 this year, MVR 7.1 million was spent on IVF, with 93 women receiving treatment and 23 successful pregnancies recorded. Last year, the amount spent on IVF was MVR 4.7 million.

Introducing Aasandha coverage for IVF and IUI was among President Dr Mohamed Muizzu’s presidential pledges. In addition, the Administration has expanded Aasandha coverage to include treatment for endometriosis and PCOS.
