A meeting to present the findings of an ecological baseline study centred on the environmental sustainability of Laamu Atoll was recently held under the Endheri project.

The study, conducted by Maldives Resilient Reefs, aimed to evaluate the ecological health of key areas across the atoll, with research conducted at Fonadhoo Dive Point, Isdhoo Muli, Mathigulhii, Mundoo Kanduolhi, Reethi Haa, and Hudhufaru.

The initiative focused on vital ecological indicators, including the condition of coral reefs, vegetation coverage, water purity, and moisture levels.

Representatives from the Laamu Atoll Island Council, women's development committees, NGOs from Gan and Fonadhoo, and students who completed an environmental care certificate programme under the Endheri Scholarship at the Maldives National University’s (MNU) Gan Campus attended the meeting.
