The State Electric Company Limited (STELCO) has assured that efforts are underway to restore power in parts of Malé City and Hulhumalé following an unexpected outage.

According to the company, several feeders supplying electricity to the two areas were switched off due to a fault in a medium-voltage panel at the old power station in Hulhumalé.

The company apologised for the inconvenience caused to customers.
