Maldives Airports Company Limited (MACL) has contributed MVR 250,000 to the nationwide telethon organised by Public Service Media (PSM) in collaboration with Maldivian media outlets. Senior MACL officials handed over the donation earlier today as part of the ongoing fundraising effort.

A number of Maldivian companies and organisations have also pledged support. Confirmed contributions include MVR 100,000 each from the Housing Development Corporation (HDC), WAMCO and MTCC; USD 25,000 from the Bank of Maldives (BML); MVR 50,000 from MTDC; MVR 300,000 from the PNC Parliamentary Group; USD 10,001 from Crown & Champa Resorts; and MVR 50,000 from the Social Club at the President’s Office.

Fund-raising boxes have been placed across Malé, Hulhumalé and Vilimalé to provide additional donation avenues. Members of the public may also contribute via BML account 7730000796107, while dollar donations can be transferred to account number 7730000796106. Donations are additionally accepted through the QR code displayed on television during the telethon.

As of 9 p.m., a total of MVR 2.3 million and USD 38,322 had been raised.
