Maldives Media House (MMTV) has donated MVR 10,000 to the nationwide telethon organised to assist Sri Lanka, which continues to face widespread flooding and disruption following Cyclone Ditwah.

The contribution was handed over by MMTV staff to the telethon, which is being led by Public Service Media in collaboration with 37 media outlets across the Maldives.

Cyclone Ditwah has brought heavy rainfall, strong winds, and flooding to several parts of Sri Lanka, displacing thousands of residents and damaging homes, public infrastructure, and agricultural land. Emergency services in the country remain engaged in evacuation operations, relief distribution, and restoration of essential services as communities struggle to recover from the impact of the storm.

The telethon is open to donations from the public, Government institutions, private companies, non-governmental organisations, and community groups. Funds raised will go towards humanitarian assistance and relief efforts for affected communities in Sri Lanka.

The programme is scheduled to continue until 2:00 pm today, with donations accepted through designated bank accounts and collection points.
