The Maldives Police Service has re-launched its “Police MV” mobile application with a range of new services and digital features aimed at strengthening public access to policing.

The upgraded app was officially launched by Minister of State for Homeland Security and Technology Dr Mohamed Kinaanath.

The updated application allows users to file cases, submit evidence related to ongoing investigations and report crimes occurring in their neighbourhoods. It also provides details of the investigating officer assigned to a case and enables direct communication through the app.

A new online service has been introduced for requesting visits to police detainees or appointing legal counsel for them. Users can also view information on lost-and-found reports, towed vehicles, completed transactions with police and the status of letters submitted to the service.

The application further enhances digital access to police certificates and record clearances, allowing users to apply for these services and download the documents directly.

Police said the upgraded app represents an important step in the digital transformation of policing under the Maldives 2.0 framework announced by President Dr Mohamed Muizzu. The initiative aims to improve service delivery, strengthen community engagement and create new avenues for citizens to contribute to public safety.

The “Police MV” application supports login through eFaas, enabling faster and more secure access.
