Fifty-two massage parlours closed since Immigration operation intensified: President

President Dr Mohamed Muizzu has announced that 52 massage parlours have been closed in an ongoing operation led by Maldives Immigration and other authorities.

Speaking at a meeting with the people of Galolhu, the President said the operation, which intensified from 9 December, targets the construction and operation of massage parlours, described as one of Malé’s major social issues.

Of the 52 closures, 24 were completed as part of the recent operation, with the remaining 28 shut since the operation began. The President noted that the results have been positive and confirmed that the campaign will continue. He added that illegal expatriates found at these establishments will be deported.

The President also reiterated the Administration’s commitment to addressing issues affecting the Maldivian public constructively.
