Minister of Economic Development and Trade Mohamed Saeed has congratulated President Dr Mohamed Muizzu following the release of a nationwide opinion poll indicating strong public approval of the President’s performance midway through his first term.

In a post shared on X on Thursday, Minister Saeed welcomed the findings of the latest poll conducted by Baani, which shows that 62 per cent of Maldivian voters approve of President Dr Muizzu’s leadership, resulting in a net approval rating of +24 points.

Describing the result as a notable milestone, Minister Saeed said the poll reflects growing public confidence in the President’s leadership and the direction of the current Administration. He noted that the level of support signals broad nationwide backing for the government’s policies and reform agenda.

The minister also extended his best wishes to President Dr Muizzu in his role as leader of the People’s National Congress (PNC), expressing hope that the President’s vision and dedication would continue to guide the country towards long-term progress and prosperity.

According to the Baani poll, the approval rating was measured at the midpoint of President Dr Muizzu’s first term in office, offering an early indicator of public sentiment ahead of the next presidential election scheduled for 2028.
