Former shareholder of Hanbo Company Private Limited, Hassan Mamdhooh, has been taken into police custody to be produced before court in connection with charges related to the fraudulent sale of flats at K-Park Residences.

Mamdhooh was taken into custody after failing to appear for a sentencing hearing at the Criminal Court on Thursday. He submitted a written request seeking a postponement of sentencing without appearing in person. However, the presiding judge decided to proceed and scheduled the hearing for 2:00 pm on Saturday, ordering that Mamdhooh be remanded in custody until that time.

Police said Mamdhooh has been remanded and will be produced before the Criminal Court on 27 December 2025 at 2:00 pm.

Mamdhooh faces 105 charges of fraud and deception in connection with the sale of apartments at K-Park Residences, where he is accused of selling flats unlawful prices through deceptive practices.

The case relates to one of the largest fraud prosecutions involving a private housing development in the Maldives.
