Housing Development Corporation (HDC) has commenced construction of a temporary local market in Hulhumalé Phase II in preparation for the upcoming month of Ramadan.
HDC stated that the temporary market is being built in Phase II on the vacant land between the Vinares Tower 8 and the temporary mosque. The initiative is aimed at making it more convenient for residents of Hulhumalé Phase II to purchase fruits and vegetables during Ramadan.
The temporary market will consist of 24 vendor slots. HDC said construction work on the market structure is currently underway, with the installation of the slots expected to be completed within the next two weeks.
HDC will also oversee the allocation of the market slots. The corporation said slots will be allocated on a standard basis and will be made available once construction work is completed.
