Two people have been reported missing after a cargo vessel capsized near Taj Exotica Resort on Sunday morning.

The Maldives National Defence Force (MNDF) said four people were on board the cargo vessel Balma 6 at the time of the incident. Two crew members were rescued by a passing boat, while the remaining two are still unaccounted for.

MNDF’s Malé Area Command Coastguard 2nd Squadron, together with Coast Guard divers, has been deployed to the area as search and rescue operations continue.
