An outdoor volleyball court developed as part of the Government’s efforts to expand sports facilities across the nation has been officially opened in Dhaalu Maaenboodhoo.

The facility was inaugurated by Minister of Sports, Fitness and Recreation Abdulla Rafiu during a ceremony held on the island on 6 March. The event was attended by Kudahuvadhoo Constituency MP Hussain Hameed, officials of the Maaenboodhoo Island Council, and residents of the island.

Following the inauguration, Minister Rafiu observed a volleyball match held at the newly opened court with a large number of residents attended the event.

The Government has stated that it aims to develop modern sports facilities across the country, as part of its policy to expand opportunities for sports and youth development in communities nationwide.
