President Dr Mohamed Muizzu has visited the Maldives Embassy in Berlin as part of his ongoing official visit to Germany.

The President was received at the Embassy by Maldives’ Ambassador to Germany, Shaan Shakir, along with diplomatic and administrative staff. Members of the high-level Maldivian delegation accompanying the President on the official visit, including Minister of Foreign Affairs Dr Abdulla Khaleel, were also present during the visit.

During the visit, President Dr Muizzu signed the Embassy’s visitors’ book and held discussions with Embassy staff on their work and experiences in Germany. 

President Dr Muizzu’s visit marks the first official visit by a Maldivian President at the invitation of the President of Germany and coincides with the 60th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between the two countries. The Maldives and Germany established diplomatic ties on 5 July 1966.
