President Dr Mohamed Muizzu has returned to Malé following his official visit to the People’s Republic of Bangladesh, undertaken at the invitation of Professor Muhammad Yunus, Chief Adviser of the Government of Bangladesh.

During the visit, President Dr Muizzu attended the oath-taking ceremony of Bangladesh’s newly formed government in Dhaka on 17 February 2026.

The visit marked President Dr Muizzu’s first official trip to Bangladesh since assuming office in November 2023 and formed part of ongoing diplomatic engagement between the two countries.
