Minister of Homeland Security and Technology Ali Ihusaan has alleged that former Housing Ministry State Minister Akram Kamaluddin and MDP Deputy Chairperson Ibrahim Waheed were involved in filming and circulating a video of his wife and minor daughter.

In a statement on X, Minister Ihusaan shared CCTV footage which he said shows the two men standing on a street in Malé City and recording a video on a mobile phone. The footage appears to show Akram handing a phone to Ibrahim Waheed. A third individual is also seen waiting nearby on a motorcycle. The Minister stated that the video was later disseminated through unidentified social media accounts.

The circulated clip shows a woman walking along a street in Malé with young children. A man is also visible nearby, with some social media users alleging he was acting as a bodyguard.

Minister Ihusaan stated that individuals who publicly advocate for democratic values and the protection of women and children had engaged in such conduct, describing it as the cheap, divisive politics the MDP has long represented.
