Maamigili MP and prominent businessman Qasim Ibrahim has inaugurated Masjid Ibrahim, a mosque he funded in Alifu Dhaalu Maamigili.

The mosque was officially inaugurated by Minister of Islamic Affairs Dr Mohamed Shaheem Ali Saeed alongside Qasim Ibrahim. A special ceremony was held to mark the occasion, attended by members of the Maamigili Council and residents of the island. The first Friday prayer at the mosque was led by Minister Dr Shaheem following the inauguration.

Masjid Ibrahim has the capacity to accommodate 800 worshippers and features separate prayer and ablution facilities for men and women. The mosque is also fully air-conditioned.

A total of 15 mosques have been inaugurated ahead of Ramadan this year, including projects funded by the Government as well as mosques developed in partnership with private parties.
