The final group of Maldivian pilgrims under Maldives Hajj Corporation travelling to Saudi Arabia for Umrah during the last 15 days of Ramadan has departed for Jeddah.

According to the Corporation, 316 pilgrims travelled on the most recent flight, which departed at 02:20 a.m. local time and arrived in Jeddah at 07:54 a.m. local time. Upon arrival, the group began preparations to travel onward to Makkah by bus. Officials indicated that the journey from Jeddah to Makkah is expected to take approximately two hours, subject to traffic conditions. The Hajj Corporation stated that the pilgrims are in good health.

In total, 553 Maldivian pilgrims are scheduled to perform Umrah during the month of Ramadan this year under the Corporation’s programme.
