NDMA provides temporary housing to family displaced by Maafannu fire

National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA) has arranged temporary accommodation and essential assistance for a family displaced by a fire that broke out at a residence in Maafannu on Sunday night.
NDMA said the house sustained extensive damage in the blaze and is no longer fit for habitation. Seven members of the household have been relocated to temporary accommodation for five days. The family includes three children under the age of 18, one woman and three men. Temporary housing assistance has been provided for a period of five days.
Maldives National Defence Force (MNDF) stated that the incident was reported at 03:06 a.m. Firefighters from the MNDF Fire and Rescue Service responded promptly and brought the fire under control at 04:12 a.m.
No injuries have been reported in connection with the incident.
