Ministry of Islamic Affairs has introduced a special hotline to assist Maldivian Umrah pilgrims amid the ongoing situation in the Middle East.

In a statement issued on Monday, the Ministry said the hotline has been established to support Maldivians travelling for Umrah, as well as those currently in Makkah, who may face special circumstances. The hotline number within the Maldives is 3007070, while callers from abroad may contact +960 3007070.

The Ministry had earlier urged Maldivians travelling for Umrah and those already in Makkah to exercise heightened caution in all travel-related matters. Pilgrims were also advised to stay updated on official travel advisories and to strictly follow instructions issued by the government of Saudi Arabia and other relevant authorities.

The advisory comes amid heightened regional tensions following joint US and Israeli strikes on Iran. Subsequent retaliatory actions have led to increased instability across parts of the Gulf region, affecting regional security and travel conditions.
