The Ministry of Construction, Housing and Infrastructure has urged the public to remain vigilant against scams falsely claiming to allocate land and flats under the Government’s Gedhoruveriya and Binveriya housing scheme.

In a statement, the ministry emphasised that all housing allocations are carried out strictly in accordance with regulations published in the Government Gazette. The ministry clarified that no individual or third party is authorised to facilitate allocations outside the official procedures.

The public has been advised not to engage in any financial or other transactions with parties claiming to offer land or flats under Government housing programme. The ministry stressed that any such arrangements conducted outside officially gazetted guidelines are not recognised.

Authorities have also requested that any suspicious transactions or information related to such schemes be reported immediately.

The ministry further advised that suspected scam activities be reported to the Maldives Police Service’s Anti-Fraud Centre hotline at 125.
