Foreign Minister presents exequatur to France’s new Honorary Consul

Minister of Foreign Affairs Dr Abdulla Khaleel has presented the exequatur to Fathimath Zuraig Mohamed, formally recognising her appointment as Honorary Consul of France in the Maldives.
The presentation ceremony was held at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, marking the official assumption of her consular responsibilities in the country.
During the meeting, Minister Dr Khaleel highlighted the longstanding relations between the Maldives and France and underscored the importance of continued engagement across key sectors, including tourism and trade. He expressed confidence that the Honorary Consul would contribute meaningfully to further strengthening bilateral cooperation.
Honorary Consul Zuraig conveyed her appreciation for the opportunity to serve and reaffirmed her commitment to providing consular assistance to French nationals residing in and visiting the Maldives. She also expressed readiness to work closely with Maldivian authorities to deepen collaboration between the two countries.
The issuance of the exequatur authorises the Honorary Consul to carry out official consular functions on behalf of the French Republic in the Maldives.
